What is Payout threshold?
A payout threshold is the minimum balance a creator must earn before a platform will pay out, typically combined with a fixed payout schedule and sometimes a holding period for new earnings.
Most creator platforms do not pay out every sale individually. Instead, earnings build up in a balance and are paid when they pass a minimum amount, on a set schedule. Some platforms also hold new earnings for a number of days before they can be withdrawn.
Thresholds differ widely. OnlyFans has a $20 minimum with a roughly seven-day pending hold. Fansly reportedly has $20 minimums for Paxum or local bank and $100 for crypto. LoyalFans reportedly pays twice a month with a $50 minimum, and iWantClips states a $50 minimum.
MyShrine pays creators weekly on Fridays with a £50 minimum. Payouts are currently made in cryptocurrency to the creator's own wallet after identity verification. Bank payouts are planned but not yet available.
A lower threshold helps new creators reach their first payout sooner, while a regular schedule makes cash flow easier to plan. Check the minimum, frequency, holding period and available payout methods together.
