How to Sell Paid Video, Voice and Text Sessions to Fans

To sell paid sessions to fans, offer a small menu of video, voice and text sessions at fixed durations, publish the times you are available, and require full payment before the booking is confirmed. Run the session inside a private platform room rather than on personal apps, so your phone number and accounts stay private and every session has a record.

Live one-to-one time is one of the most valuable things a creator can sell. It needs no editing, it builds real loyalty, and it scales with your prices rather than your hours. It also brings practical problems: time-wasters, no-shows, late payers and privacy risks. This guide covers how to set sessions up so they run smoothly.

Choosing Your Session Types

Not every creator wants to be on camera for every session. Offering several formats lets fans choose, and lets you match sessions to your energy and schedule.

TypeGood forThings to consider
VideoHighest-value, most personal interactionNeeds lighting, privacy and a tidy background
VoiceCreators who prefer not to be on camera; phone domination; conversationLower set-up effort; a good microphone matters
TextShy fans, busy creators, longer-form roleplay or coachingEasy to fit around other work; a transcript remains

On MyShrine, paid sessions can be video, voice or text chat. Each booking gets a private session room link, so you never have to share a phone number or personal messaging account.

Pricing by Duration

Offer two or three fixed durations rather than open-ended time. Common options are 15, 30 and 60 minutes. Shorter sessions often carry a slightly higher per-minute rate, because the set-up and wind-down time is the same whatever the length.

Example session menu

SessionYour priceFan pays (+10%)You keep (90%)
Text, 30 min£40£44£36
Voice, 15 min£45£49.50£40.50
Voice, 30 min£80£88£72
Video, 30 min£120£132£108
Video, 60 min£220£242£198

These numbers are illustrations, not recommendations; set yours based on your experience, demand and what your time is worth. You keep 90% of the price you set, and the fan sees the 10% service fee before paying. To model your monthly income, try the earnings calculator.

Managing Your Availability

A calendar of open slots is far better than negotiating times in DMs. Fans can see what is free, pick a time and pay, and you stay in control of your week.

  • Publish only slots you will definitely keep. Cancelling on paying fans damages trust quickly.
  • Leave buffers of 10–15 minutes between sessions for breaks and overruns.
  • Set a weekly limit. Sessions are intense; burning out helps nobody.
  • Consider time zones. If you have fans worldwide, a couple of early or late slots can open a new audience.

On MyShrine you add slots to your availability calendar. When a fan chooses one and pays in full, the booking comes through to you and the fan gets a private room link for the session.

Screening and Session Notes

Short screening questions help you prepare and filter out bad fits. Useful questions include what the fan hopes to get from the session, any limits they have, and whether they have booked with you before. Keep questions relevant and avoid asking for personal details you do not need.

Running the Session

  1. Join a few minutes early so you can check your camera, microphone and background.
  2. Restate the boundaries at the start, briefly and confidently.
  3. Watch the clock. End on time; if the fan wants more, they can book another slot.
  4. End any session that crosses a line. You never owe anyone continued time if they push past agreed limits.

Safety and consent

Sessions should always be online only, between verified adults, and consensual on both sides. Never agree to move a session to a personal app, never share your location, and never agree to meet in person. In-person meetings are not allowed on MyShrine. If you run findom or femdom sessions, keep them within agreed limits and never use threats, blackmail or exposure. Our privacy and safety guide covers this in more depth.

Reducing No-Shows

Taking full payment up front solves most no-show problems: a fan who has paid tends to turn up. Publish a clear cancellation policy on your menu (for example, how much notice is needed for a reschedule) and apply it consistently.

Sessions vs Calls vs Paid DMs

Scheduled sessions sit alongside other ways of selling your time:

  • Sessions are booked in advance, fixed length, paid up front. Best for planned, high-value time.
  • Calls are more spontaneous, for when you are available and want to take calls there and then.
  • Pay-per-message DMs are asynchronous; fans pay per message and you reply when you can. See our pay-per-message pricing guide.

Many creators use all three: DMs for everyday contact, sessions for planned time, and calls when they are free.

Setting Up Your Space

A little preparation makes sessions feel more professional and keeps you safer:

  • Lighting: a soft light in front of you, not behind, flatters and makes you easier to see.
  • Background: a plain wall or a curtain removes identifying details. Check what the camera sees before every session.
  • Sound: a basic headset or clip-on microphone is a big improvement over a laptop microphone, especially for voice sessions.
  • Connection: use a wired connection or sit close to your router to avoid dropped calls.
  • Notifications: silence your phone and close other apps so nothing personal pops up on screen.

Growing Your Session Bookings

Sessions sell best to fans who already know you. Some approaches that help:

  • Mention open slots in a weekly mass DM rather than posting about them constantly.
  • Offer a shorter, lower-priced session as an entry point, so new fans can try it without a big commitment.
  • After a good session, let the fan know when your next slots open.
  • Describe each session type clearly: what happens, how long it lasts, what is and is not included.

Keep a simple note after each session of what the fan enjoyed and any limits they mentioned. Returning fans notice when you remember, and it makes the next booking easier to prepare for. Keep these notes private and only record what you actually need.

Resist the urge to discount heavily. Scarcity is part of what makes one-to-one time valuable, and a full calendar at fair prices is better than an overbooked one at low prices.

FAQ

How much should I charge for a paid video call with fans?

Base your price on your time, demand and experience, and offer fixed durations. Shorter sessions usually carry a higher per-minute rate. On MyShrine you keep 90% of your price; the fan pays a 10% fee on top.

Do fans pay before the session?

On MyShrine, yes. Bookings are paid in full before they reach you, so you only confirm sessions that are already paid.

Do I have to share my phone number?

No. Each booking uses a private session room on the platform, whether video, voice or text.

Can I offer text-only sessions?

Yes. Text sessions suit creators who prefer not to be on camera, and fans who prefer writing.

How do fans pay?

Fan payments are currently made in cryptocurrency, either directly or from a prepaid wallet balance. Card payments are being added.
